Does anyone else get a little annoyed at "Cockney" accents written in books?

Where the writer wants to convey that the person speaking has a Cockney accent.

I really can't stand it.

I love accents of all kinds, and have nothing against people with any kind of London accent (I lived in London for years), but when I see it written down it just really grates me. Funny I don't seem to have a problem with any other.

And yes, I know it's helps to establish the character more with the reader....

Does anyone else feel this way about accents written down?

I do get annoyed at different accents at first. Especially from olden day celtic ones. But after a while i get use to it and it doesnt bother me.

I hear you though!
