does anyone else feel that harry potter and twilight have taken over books and authors?

It's been that way for a long, long time. I don't mind the Potter fans as much because they seem to have more sense and courtesy. We just had a Potter movie and in a few months there will be another Twilight movie. Therefore we are flooded with their spam.
 
twilight has such bad writing and pathetic characters(Bella as the number one example). but hp has awesome writing and characters, so i can see why they still dominate. but the only reasons every girl loves twilight is because of edward.
 
omg yes. every other question is either harry potter or twilight.. except harry potter is more popular now because the movie just came out - except IM GONA SEE THE MOVIE TOM!! IM SOOO EXCITED!!! ^ can you tell i love harry potter? hahaha

i think the genre of fantasy and romance has taken over this genre... but i kinda like that for i can answer three/fourths of these questions hahaha
 
Yes, but they aren't nearly as bad as they used to be. It seems to be more people looking for opinions on their stories, people asking you to do their homework for them, and people looking for book recommendations.
 
i LOVE them, but it is getting a little out of control.
catherine hardwicke's movie made it popular and the movie was REALLY BAD compared to the book

the only reason its sooooo much more popular than it used to be is because the movie made it popular.
 
I think books that are fantasy just take over a person. They get so lost in it because they would like to escape there own reality. I mean personally I'm into other stories. I enjoyed Twilight at first, then it got bizzare. Everyone made a huge deal out of it. I like authors that don't get very much attention.
 
Yes!!! They definitely have because at least every other question is about them! It's kind of funny actually to look at all the questions about how Twilight could become famous or how people can like Twilight or how disappointed or excited people were about the movies. It's so stupid they've completely taken over the section! It makes it easier for me, though, because I've read the Twilight books and seen the hp movies, so I can answer more than half of the questions in this section lol. I think that the Yahoo! answers people should make two subsections in books and authors: Twilight and Harry Potter, and Other.
