I have a samsung x497. I'm not happy with it for two different reasons --
1. The control on the side of the phone is too easy to hit and turn the thing to silent mode,
2. I can't use my PC to manage my phonebook on it. I purchased software from www.mobilaction.com that had a usb cable, but the phone book on the PC doesn't download properly and it's just a pain going through something that should be simple.
I'm looking for a plain-jane, vanilla phone that has two features --
1. The controls don't get messed up just because you have the phone open, or in your pocket:
2. The phone book on the phone is extremely robust, with features like a single entry for "Bob" with 5-8 contact items attached to the single name (as opposed to having separate entries for "Bob mobile" and "Bob home", etc. with connectivity such that the phonebook and be uploaded/downloaded to my PC and managed via PC software.
The Cingular store (where I have my current contract) said I need to find a GSM phone, but other than that, I'm open to any suggestions. What kind of phone would you recommend?
