The problem reads as follows in the Eleventh Edition of R. C. Hibbeler's "Engineering Mechanics Statics" textbook:
"Determine the surface area and the volume of the ring formed by rotating the square about the vertical axis."
I arrived at the following answers:
A = 8?ab
V = 2?a²b
I'd greatly appreciate if you could either verify that this answer of mine is correct, or let me know that it is incorrect. This problem has been driving me crazy today!
