Does any one know what the law states about a G1 driver in ontario on private property?

Here is the on going discussion in our household, my father on the weekend ask my 16 year old son to move some vehicles around on his property, he holds his G1 licence. As well as the fact he is a very responsible driver and was very capable of what he was ask to do. My husband and my father are now at odds because my husband says its wrong and against the law. I don't agree because of the fact its on private property, so does any one know the real truth of the matter as to what the law really states?
 
Technically he only has a G1, so he should be supervised while driving. If you are caught driving by yourself with only a G1, your license will either be taken away for a few days or possibly demerit points.
