does any one know the name to this anime?

it came on adult swim like in 1999-2000s only saw two episode of it because they took it off it was a mehca,si-fi anime and in the first episode there in space and training i remember a girl with pink hair that had cat ears but hid them under a cap and didn't let any know she had weird ears,there was a boy who was a new comer that accidentally reveled her ears by knocking the cap off somehow. later on he gets in one of the mehca for the first time.it then fills up with purple warter and acts as Oxygen for him he's doing ok till the boss tells him too look down the boy does this and starts to freak out because he sees theres nothing under he's feet he then pukes and runs off all freak out guessing he has a fear of heights the girl gets angry at the boss and yells askin why he told a new comer to look down knowing that when someone gets in the mehca for the first time they are unable to handle looking at there surroundings.that's all of what i can remember i would like to see the rest of this anime but cant because i cant recall the name would really like someone to help me.thanks in advance
