This guy has to earn the easiest paycheck in the world. And I'm sure he gets a huge amount of money for his "commentaries."
Tonight he talked about the "junk mail" that friendly viewers send him -- little gifts that he never asked for and does not really want. It was pretty sarcastic.
All his talks are sounding the same by now, whether it's going through his desk drawer to sort through trash or talking about how he sorts his mail every day.
This guy has to do zero research, essentially zero work for his pay, and I bet he gets 10 times as much as a typical hard-working reporter.
I can't believe that he attracts that many viewers.
When I was a kid I actually used to get Andy Rooney books as gifts and enjoyed them -- they were his columns from newspapers. They were fairly funny. But 30 years later, his stuff just seems incredibly tedious.
