Does an Unlocked Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G for AT&T work in other countries?

I'm from Australia, I'm interested in getting the 4G version and just wondered if it be worth me buying it on eBay if it could work here.

Any Americans who knows the answer to this would be greatly appreciated.
