military? I am newly diagnosed with MS. My husband is in the navy and we were told by a retired navy friend of ours that there are certain programs that we can get into that would prevent him from deploying while I'm having a flare-up or just make it so he's not going away anymore. I have respect for my husband and his job, but I come first with him and he is having emotional difficulties dealing with the thought of being away while I'm having problems again. I had no idea that I had MS when he joined and he is half way through his enlistment. I realized when I married him that things would be difficult, however I was not aware that I would be dealing with a chronic illness without the support of my spouse to help me through it. I have great friends who try to help when they can, but they have college, jobs, and their own lives so they can't just drop everything to drive me over an hour away to my Dr. I would appreciate any information and would like to know if anyone else has been in a similar situation.
