Does a "speeding" car actually kill?

There are many people who believe that a car "speeding" kills, or is always dangerous. “Speed” doesn’t kill. Speed is merely a measurement (in this case) of a moving vehicle. “Speeding” also doesn’t kill. This term merely normally refers to vehicle which is travelling faster than the speed limit. (which, in itself, is not necessarily dangerous). What is dangerous are vehicles travelling at an appropriate speed (regardless of the limit). It also has to be remembered than it could actually be highly dangerous travelling at a certain speed which is actually under the limit. We should all be using our intelligence and drive “appropriately”. The speed “limits” are only there to tell you that you will likely get fined if you exceed it, and the cameras are there to achieve this
The majority of accidents do not occur because a vehicle is merely travelling faster than a limit, but because the driver is driving dangerously, or under the influence of drugs or drink. Unfortunately there are no automatic devices to detect them. I would much rather be in a vehicle which is being driven 3 miles over the limit than be somebody who is drunk, tailgating and on his mobile, but under the speed limit. Wouldn’t you??
