Does a Pontiac Vibe have anti-lock brakes (ABS)?

I recently got a Pontiac vibe, and also my family has a 2001 Pontiac sunfire that no one really uses unless we need to. So, i was driving and went to stop at a red light, but this stretch of road was more slick (it had just snowed and there was like an inch or two of snow on the streets) and when i tried stopping the speedometer on my car went from 25 to 0 right away, but i continued sliding and my car was moving sideways until i hit the curb and bounced back off. But i have driven the sunfire in the snow and when you stop in that car the speedometer like follows the speed your going instead of dropping to 0, and also it makes a loud grinding kind of sound and you stay straight instead of sliding to left or right. I just think its weird that the sunfire is a lot older than the vibe, and would have ABS and the vibe wouldn't. Can someone help me, i don't know if the vibe came that way or if something is wrong with the brakes.
