Maybe I'm a bit off here but... in the interest of saving space, I trashed an old CD player of mine assuming that my DVD player would do just fine. Yes, it certainly does play CD's, but I've begun to notice 'parts' of my favorite tunes disappear (bass on some, subtle guitar on others). I notice that if I play with the balance on my old receiver (far left or far right) then as if magic, those missing parts reappear.
...one more piece of info... the receiver/tuner itself is older than the advent of DVD. So perhaps I shouldn't be concerned that I'm playing CD's through a DVD player and consider a new receiver/tuner?
