I recently took my wifes car to an AutoZone to get a diagnostics test. The problem is that the description is strange: "Error code p0031: Heated Oxygen Sensor- bank 1 sensor 1"
The error code (P0031) and location (bank 1 sensor 1) refer to the A/F Ratio Sensor in the service and repair manual, but the actual "Heated Oxygen Sensor" is in a completely different location (its actually refered to as the Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 in the manual).
So I dont want to have to buy two parts, and risk a restocking fee. If I buy the A/F Ratio Sensor, will the Check Engine light turn off if I installed the correct part?
