Does a BA in chemistry and a BS in biology increase job prospects in biotech?

I am a second semester senior with enough credits to graduate with a B.S. in biology. I want to land a job in biotechnology and it does not seem like I will be able to do that with my degree. Right now I am 16K in student loans. If I take 3 more chemistry classes then I will earn a BA in chemistry. It will take a year to complete, and I have figured that besides those chem classes I can work in a research lab and also get an internship working at a biotech firm along with that. However this will probably send me another 5-6K in debt. Is this a good idea, to hold off graduation to get this degree and do an internship + more research?
