If your mazda still has the original spark plugs from 00' its a miracle it still runs!!
There is no such thing as maintenance free spark plugs, 100k is probably the longest it will last even thats pushing it!
60k mile replacement intervals is a good start, don't forget to replace the air and fuel filters also!
