Does 02 ford windstar sel have to have vcp? Or can I use dvd?

I have a 02 ford windstar sel I just purchased and it came with small tv and the vcp player was gone. So what I am trying to figure out is do I need to just hook up dvd with the 3 colored cables, or does it have to be a vcp player? Or do I have to go get something installed to use dvd?! Help please!!
