ok let me first say that tramission fluid is fine.
the battery is good.
its a dodge....

okay heres the deal this car is a 2001 dodge stratus and i got for 100 bucks with clean title. they said it would not start and ithought i could fix it but now need suggestions and help. In order for it to start i need to pop the hood and throw some fuel into the valve that opens and closes when you push the gas. im guessing it burns up that fuel and then i can leave it on no problem. before if i wasnt pushing on gas it would just die out while idle. but now i can at least let it run. now when i shift however it GOES NOWHERE it rocks slighty forwrd in drive and rocks backward in reverse. its like it wants to move but doesnt have enough strenght or power... please guys i need help. A man told me it was the fuel pump. just by looking at it and with his knowlege of dodges fuel pumps getting out of wack. but before i buy it i would like a little more info and THANKS TO ALL READING THIS BECAUSE I DO REALIZE ITS LONG

Well these cars do have a really crappy transmission in them and it sounds like this one is junk, I would save your $100 and get a better car or buy it and part it out if it has some good body panels and interior pieces you can sell.
