Dodge Stratus engine light won't go off, Why?

I drive a dodge stratus and the engine light won't go off, except for maybe one day out of the month. I have brought it to a mechanic and they say nothing is wrong and they reset it but it keeps coming back on. I've been driving it like this for about 4 months. Why won't it turn off and stay off?

Take it to Auto Zone and have a diagnostic done. If there's no codes being thrown you can have them disable it and the light will go off.
