Dodge Ram Van as first car?

I am a teen ready to get my first car. Buying a car is DEFINITELY not an option because they are so expensive, even used ones. I was supposed to get my aunt's old 1996 Plymouth Neon, but due to its extremely horrible reputation, everything is broken! The other alternative is my dad's 1994 Dodge Ram Van. The thing is huge, but runs perfectly and needs no work whatsoever. However, I feel like I would be the only teenager driving one of these things. I never see these in the high school parking lots! Would it even be allowed? I can drive it well, so that's not a problem :]
 
It will be unique, think of it that way. Vans are also fun to flog around, but I wouldn't recommend it especially if its your first car. Think of all the people you can give rides to though! Maybe you can make a buck or two
 
once you see how many of your friends can pile in it you will find that they arent so bad.
