Generally speaking, no. However there are vehicles that you can.
For example the Pioneer system usually is a complete upgrade with new speakers around the cabin as well as the subwoofer upgrade. The car is built with this option and has a completely different wiring harness for the interior of the car that will accomodate the Pioneer subwoofer. Without this harness the sub cannot be used or you will have to make a custom one yourself.
Your best bet is to go to the dealership and ask.
A suggestion though before you buy.... Check ebay. Maybe someone is selling their old setup from a wrecked car? Check around for online forums for that vehicle as well. Being an SRT4 owner there is a forum that I can buy from. The factory Kicker option was $795 new.... but people pull it out of their race prepped SRT4's and it can be found for $300 or less. Beats dealership prices
