You should start looking for mechanic shops that only specialize on transmissions, they will do it the cheapest. To rebuild the transmission the cheapest and if you are lucky you might get it at $600 and most charge up to $1000. So is $600 to $1000. If you are swapping the transmission, that would be a lot cheaper but then you have to add the price of buying a transmission. I would recommend you to find a transmission shop that can have them scan your transmission (electronically) and they might find the problem specifically. It could be as easy as one little sensor making your transmission to shift gears horribly. Some shops will do the scan for free but they are hard to find and most will charge.
to remove it and rebuild it and reinstall it about 1800 bucks if you,ll get a few estimates on it and get the lowest one possible another shop will try and beat their price,this might get it done a little cheaper,good luck.
