could it be the solenoid pack ? I have an 2002 Neon, the trans pan was "covered" with trans fluid, so my initial reaction was to change the Trans oil pan gasket, then a few hours later ( eight or so...) I checked it out to discover THE SAME PROBLEM, the underside was completelt saturated!
I am now guessing, after reading alot of forums, that it could be my Trans solenoid pack... ( or a shifting linkage seal??? OMG?! ... what next!?)
The older gasket that was removed, was terrible, made of paper with a yucky sealant all over it, was thouroughly cleaned and the 'correct' part was replaced, requiring NO adhesives or sealants, just the rubber gasket that came for this make/model ( instructions said to put a little fluid on it).... PLEASE HELP?!
I am a lady, albeit an ex-Marine, not afraid to get a bit dirty, and also have my son helping me alot, yet he is no mechanic.... do not have much money, so, if I can, I would like to D-I-Y... Thank you for any help
