Dodge Neon 2000, with 105k. Worth to buy?

I know nothing about cars. All I know is that there's a friend of mine who's willing to sell his Neon to me. It's a really nice car, but it has above 105k miles on it. Doesn't have any serious problems so far; other than something with a hose that had to be replaced.

Do you think it's worth buying this car? How long do you think it'll last? Is there another car (that is also affordable) that you may recommend? A car that maybe will require less maintenance in the future, that won't break down so soon, but is also under 5k? XD Pleaaase give me as much info as possible... thanks. :]
Noooo I want it because it's a really nice car. :] But if it won't work in the next year then it's not worth it..

The Neon was never a reliable car. In fact it's very unpredictable. No one can say if that car will last. But for my money I would hunt down a Chevy Cobalt.

well i never buy cars from friends, if anything goes wrong with the thing you are going to blame them instantly. so the real question is "Dodge Neon 2000, with 105k. Worth a friend?"

5 grand will get you a car, no problem. but i would recommend shopping around try things like Yahoo Autos, Craigs list, ever some local dealers. just use your head and if something doesn't seem right then move on. there are millions of used cars out there, just don't settle because your friend is tying to get rid of his.
