I've got a 2000 Dodge Intrepid ES. The AC Air compressor is locked up so the serpentine belt just spins around it. It's burning the belt. Anyway, is there any easy solutions possible other than replacing it?
Also:
When the air in the car is off, the unit spins but as soon as I turn on the air (either for HEAT or for AC), it locks up. Our initial solution has been to unplug power to the compressor. This way, the electric clutch never engages and the thing spins freely.
