I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad cab with a squeak in the driver side somewhere by front wheel. Has anyone ever had this problem and solved it? It's been like this for several years and doesn't seem affect anything.
My hubby and I have been lookng at this am and it appears to be related to when you turn the steering wheel back and forth. you can also get it to make the sound by bouncing the driver side up and down. Both the upper and lower ball joints have been replaced.
Any suggestions on exactly where to lube it to get rid of this sound. Our mechanic got it to stop a few years ago but it came back. We don't think it's anything catastrophic since it's been doing it for such a long time.

jack it up and check the a-frame bushings and torsion bar bushings the get dried out over the years and cause that too happen,i own 3 dakota,s and all of them do that and there's no sense in changing them until they actually go bad, check the bal joints also while you got this one down because they was bad to wear and cause noises in the front wheels,if its the bushings and they aren't worn much id use it until they actually needed replacing, new ones will last about a year and they too will make a squeak once in a while, good luck with it.
