In January 2007 it was replaced.
Then in May of 2008 it was replaced. The mechanic said it's pretty typical for the transfer cases to go out.
So Missouri gets dumped with snow so hubby tried to use the 4x4 yesterday (first time since 2008) and guess what? it's gone again.
Is it really par for the course, or do we have a bad mechanic?
We have a 2001 dodge dakota quad cab if that's important.
Any people out there that can tell us what we're doing wrong? (if anything)
Well that doesn't help. What's the point of having the 4x4 sticker on the thing if it can't be used? That sucks.
We spent our entire stimulus check on this last year.
What is happening to the truck is this:
It's in 4x4 lo ok (except it doesn't work) and when you turn the knob to 4x4high or 2wd, while the light remains constant on the lo, it blinks on the other.
