202 dodge dakota stoplights dont work changed brakelight switch still dont work
 
onothr thing to check if you have a tow package on it check thw wiring at the rear where you plug the trailer to, it may be corroded and broke contact
 
Did you check the fuse, the ground, the electrical connections, the bulbs?

The brake light switch may not have been the problem, I'd start at the brake light switch and using a test light work towards the rear of the truck, after checking/replacing the fuse.
