Dodge Dakota power supply?

How do I change out the power supply/lighter in my Dakota? I blew a fuse and have since changed it out, but it still won't work. I have been advised that I may need a new unit.
 
im not sure,but the cig liter assy just screws n,figure out how to get 2 back of cig liter and hold on 2 it put a finger n the cig liter anturn it wont hurt u the liter portion is the ground the back of the liter is shaped like a small coke can,will have a plug on the end,that the hot wire usuall tkes a 30 amp fuse,chk ur owners manual may have other things on the fuse c if they work if so its the liter assy not fuse,try horn,inside lites,electric gas and trk release r sometimes on this circuit
 
depending on what year, you might have to take the dash off. ive done it a few times on my 1992, and it's not that hard.
