I have a 68 dodge charger, and the steering is vague and unresponsive, in other words CRAP I know this is a trait of muscle cars from that era, so I was wondering how I could fix this, is it possible to replace the steering box with an old 90s $2000 dollar bmw or are there more compatible options that would dramatically improve this and make it as responsive as a modern car.?

if you replace ALL the front end bushings with the new polyurethane type of bushings the steering will be drastically tighter and thus be more responsive. i have a 69 Mach1 and it worked beautifully for my car. oh i almost forgot . i also put on 17 inch low profile wheels and tires which also helped it to be a lot more responsive !
