Dodge Caravan Air Bag Lite comes on often. Dealer, says I need a new bag at $744. ?

The lite goes out when I turn the steering wheel. I've convinced myself that it's a contact problem. How do I correct the problem myself.
I'm very disappointed that the dealer thinks it's the air bag!
 
this sounds more like the clockspring is what,s busted,if the horn stops working as well,it,s your clockspring,the best way to fix it is to replace the clockspring,you,ll need to remove the steering wheel to replace it,good luck with it.
