Dodge Caliber and too many close calls?

So I got a 2008 Dodge Caliber about a year and half ago, bright red, R/T AWD. Within the past year however, I've been noticing that I'm having way too many close calls with accidents (and no it's not all from my driving), but close calls as in people merging almost hitting me, trying to switch lanes and almost hitting me, that kind of thing. I was wondering if anyone had any information on if the car itself (like the shape for example) is the cause of it or if it's just careless driving. Fortunately, I've gotten use to this so I've become an extra observant driver and have been able to avoid an accident so far *crossed fingers*
