I am looking to buy a Dodge 3500 with the I6 and Cummins turbo diesel engine but the only thing that I can afford is the four to five year-old trucks with 55-66K miles on them. I have heard that these trucks are good for 350K miles. I plan on using the truck as a part-time hot shot truck and a personal driver. I am going to operate as my own carrier because I don't want to be out on the road for weeks at a time. I will have another source of income in which I will use the truck to transport myself to calls. My 2000 Nissan has 222,000 miles on it and need replacing. I think that if I am going to buy a truck, I might as well buy something that I can use to get at least a portion of my money back. Would anyone hesitate at buying a Dodge dually in the 55K-66K mileage range? Should I go with a Dodge dealer or a reputable independent dealer?
