Doctor Didn't Return Call

Wonder what to do about a doctor of 30 years that didn't return my calls. Husband has kidney stones which is being treated but he had a diverticulitis attack Saturday, which he has had before, and never got a call back from doctor. I say get a new doctor. What say you???

It may not be the doctor's fault. If you spoke with a person who was to leave a message, it may be that they either did not give him the message or he was away on vacation and they failed to tell you he would be unavailable so that someone else could handle your husband's situation.

I would give him another chance. When you do get ahold of him, tell him you left an urgent message but never got a response. I am sure he will take the person aside. If you left a message on his telephone answering machine, he may have been gone. My doctor is gone from August 28th to September 9th for the holiday.

That many years, if he has been a good doctor, would be a lot to throw away over one incident.
