Not really sure how to word this question? My grandmother died this week and we were making morbid jokes about death and related subjects at the wake last night and also at the gathering after the funeral. Today people were definitely looking at us very strangely [the after-funeral thing was in a public place] when we were laughing, I guess because it was obvious we had just come from a funeral. We don't make the jokes constantly, but I was talking to my sister about it and neither of us have ever been to a funeral like this other than the ones for our relatives.
Does anyone elses family do this or are we just really weird? They weren't mean jokes at all its more like something to stop the tension/change the subject when people get too sad I guess? Also grandma wouldn't have minded, she did it too.
