Do you think women could run civilization by themselves?

Let's just say all men disappear from the face of the Earth tomorrow. Do you think women would be able to maintain civilization? I personally don't think they would be able to do it. Because women would be unwilling to do the tough and dangerous jobs men do to keep civilization running. Jobs such as mining, repairing bridges, building cars, planes, trains, ships, constructing tall buildings, ocean fishing, building rockets and so on. Do you really think women are capable/willing to do these kind of jobs?
 
Well let's see. Smart people know that neither men or women will ever be dropped off the face of the earth just because of their gender. But, I could see us ladies setting traps to catch you all one by one and then store you away in small cavernous places. When we need you to build a bridge or do our gold mining for us we will let you out as needed. I think women are willing / capable to let you work for us and we will respond in paying you with a weekly food benefit.
 
Of course. But one needs to pay attention to whose definition of civilization they are referring too, it's ignorant to assume there is only one definition, but for a reference point I will refer to the dominant society in the USA and other 1st world countries. Depends on ones definition of civilization, lately civilization has not been very civilized at all, wars, massive white collar crime, pollution, unemployment, extinction of the middle class, auto rage, more crime, GWS, border wars, and lack of immigration reform, exploitation of resources, things and people.....and so on.
To many people mistake technology for what the definition of civilization means, that is to narrow and simplistic, and overlooks much.

Men have made quite a mess of it all.
 
Hrm, if all men just vanished:

95+% of all water purification jobs are held by men.
99+% of all oil/gasoline production jobs are held by men.
90+% of all security (military/police) jobs are held by men.
90+% of all food production jobs are held by men.

So imagine a world without food, without security, without oil, and without clean water.

I'm not saying women can't do these jobs, I'm saying you can't train enough women fast enough to prevent $hit hitting the fan.
 
A women can do all of those things you mentioned. And some are more than willing to prove that. But if men disappeared off the earth, why would women need to worry about those things? Because not only would the population be already cut in half, but ,without men, the human species would go extinct.
 
I think women could maintain them because there are women trained in every industry.

But i doubt women would have created things like cars and planes. Like in the James Brown song 'It's a Man's World':

You see, man made the cars to take us over the road
Man made the trains to carry heavy loads
Man made electric light to take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water, like Noah made the ark

This is a man's, a man's, a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl
 
I don't see why we couldn't set up a trial nation and give them a chance.

Also, yes.

But that doesn't mean we shouldn't spare the opportunity to record the facts.
