So, I tend to believe that there are a lot of cute sayings out there that are total crap, but no one actually spends time to think about them. And I was convinced that "truth is stranger than fiction" was one of them. Like, yeah, the truth can be pretty weird (I read an article in the paper a few weeks ago about a woman who drove around with a mummified homeless lady in her passenger seat because the lady had died there and she was too afraid to call the cops).... but stranger than FICTION? Like, come on guys, fiction gets pretty weird. And lets not forget that all the best legends and stories on the history channel often are just that... legends (or lies on the history channel because the truth doesn't sell.)
But lately, somethings come up in my tiny little life that, well, is pretty strange. I mean, if I told it to people, half of them wouldn't believe me, and the other half would call the police/call a psychiatrist/commit me to an asylum. And I'm only 16. So I'm thinking, if this weirdness can happen to me... and oh, when I say "stranger than fiction" I say this exact thing because (because I'm a writer) were I to create this into a story, people would say the characters are one-dimensional, and that the plot is unrealistic. But it's truth, see?
