Do you think the train engineer actually typed the text 22 sec before the crash?

at&t often wants to sell the push to talk feature so it doesn't matter when a text is sent, it might not go out for some time. And if he had been texting, could he have prevented the crash at 22 seconds? When did he miss the signal. As hard as it is to stop a train, I hope it was earlier than 22 seconds. (Something about this story doesn't sound right.)
Look texting is a problem, I just don't think texting at 22 seconds is the issue. How many minutes before did he miss the signal? Was he texting then?

He also sent 29 and received 28 texts that day. It sounds like he was not paying attention much at all that day.

Typing a text message whether you are a train or car driver has been proved to be more dangerous than a drunk driver. The train driver should never have been doing it no matter when .
