I think he will be traded to the Nets because the Nuggets are more concerned about getting the best possible deal than helping him.
I think if Melo does not sign an extension I could still see the Nets trading for him but just giving up less and just trying to convince him that by 2012 they would be able to acquire a Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, or Deron Williams via free agency or a sign and trade. They also have to remind him the fact that under new CBA he can potentially lose 4-5 mil a year and maybe a year on the contract.
