yeah because the companies are American companies companies, therefor the money the company makes goes back to our government instead of overseas

Nope! Giving them money (or AIG, banks or any other institution) will not save the company. They'll be back for more handouts (AIG has done it twice already - $80b + $60b). Giving the money to the companies will not sell durable goods. It will not create financing options through GMAC. They (CEOs and board members) will pocket the money through creative bookkeeping and run.

If the people don't have jobs (and money), GM, Chrysler, Ford and other businesses like banks, insurance companies will not be able to sell a bucket of spit.

It's estimated that the bailout could go to $5 trillion. There were 138 million tax filers in 2007. That equates to 36,200 per filer.

Give the money to the taxpayers. The taxpayers spend the money and that creates jobs. It's called Trickle UP Economics, as opposed to Regan's Trickle Down Economics where the taxpayers got pissed on.

Let the taxpayers determine where the bailout money should be applied. It's their money to begin with! It's obvious to me that the government and mortgage companies sure don't know how to manage money - look where we are at now!

Yes, it would be inflationary. But our spending would create jobs.

Yes, Absolutely! You think the recession is bad? The Big Three employ Apx. 300,000 direct employees and for each job it accounts for apx. 10-15 indirect jobs (suppliers, parts makers, dealers etc.) that totals it well over 3,000,000 jobs lost!
That's not counting the businesses affected by the surrounding communties of all affected, many of those would close!
This would bring are unemployment level in to high double digits!
Could you imagine 3,000,000 people collecting unemployment?
This would throw the American economy into a Depression easy!
Taxpayers would pay anyway and probally more!
At least this is a LOAN! not a bailout! The Big three have made big changes it may take a couple years to reap the benefits but they are coming. If The Big three don't get help it will be udder catastrophe for everyone!
