I always heard that one way to get yourself out of a hole is to STOP DIGGING!! Evidently the republican / Rove strategy of pandering to the far-right anti-science, anti-intellectual, anti-evolution, fundamentalist white-centric radical Christian wing(nut) of the GOP has been its undoing: perhaps a successful tactic but a losing strategy.
Always, ALWAYS go for long-term gains, not short-term blips. They'll never learn. And ya know, that's fine with me. Sad commentary on the undereducated rabid fringe still procreating in America... but at least I can offer them this sobriquet: "Ignorance is its own reward."
