Major acquisitions that took place during Lebron's time in Cleveland (2003-2010) included Gasol being traded to the Lakers, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen going to Boston.
I think if the Cavs had gotten Gasol or Garnett in a trade even if it meant giving up Big Z and Varejao they would have won a championship or two by now. They also passed up on tradinig for Stoudemire which would have made them a contender in the future because Lebron would have most likely stayed there if Amare was traded there.
I think the failure by the Cavs supporting cast the last 3 years had to do with the fact that they had guys playing bigger than their roles. Delonte West, Mo Williams, Varejao, Ilgauskus, Jamison were trying to be 2nd option guys when they were really not.
