...gathering statistics? This is not to say whether or not you are racist, agist or sexist... Only whether or not you think it's important to gather data by categorizing people.

For instance, do you think its important when studying HIV to know that black women between the ages of 22-30 have the highest increase in rates of infection?

Do you think it's important, when studying employment that black women between the ages of 40-60 show the highest rate of job stability - staying at their jobs for much longer than any other group?

Does this really tell us anything useful or is it just confusing the issues?

Does it encourage prejudice?
The statistics above may not be completely accurate... I was just reciting them from memory and don't really have a link or anything...
