“immortalizing” the individual? Why? Do you think that photography has replaced portrait painting as a way for “immortalizing” the individual? Why or why not?
I am not an art student but I would think you are right. Mainly is a more accurate rendition.
However if I wanted to immortalized myself I would think an oil painting. The richness of the paint, the durability of the medium, and the interpretation of the artist are much more attractive than a plain photograph.
