Do you think that listening to an entire album is a dying trend?

To me one of the greatest experiences is listening to an album in it's entirety; whether it be Led Zeppelin IV, Ride the Lightning, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, American Beauty, etc. It seems that nowadays people will only listen to a few songs off of an album then never look back on it.

I think so. I once listened to this DJ being interviewed on the radio (now there's another dying trend) and he said that these days he switches songs halfway through because the younger crowds have shorter attention spans. When I was in junior high, I either listened to one song on loop until I got tired of it or I would constantly flip through songs. In the past few years though I've been more patient with music and I've discovered amazing songs that I normally would have skipped over. Now I only download music in albums when I'm not buying it on CD or Vinyl. I think I've become a little more appreciative of music and the artists that create it.

Damn dude! That's my favorite Pink Floyd album. I don't think it's dying. I'm doing it right now. It doesn't happen with pop albums, but with Metal albums, most everyone I know listens to them all the way through. Depends on the type of music. Kinda the same thing as "Is the guitar solo dying?" I guess. It's not with Metal.

No way! I always listen to Lady Gaga and Kesha, etc. Albums and CDs all the way through! (maybe on shuffle to mix it up lol) but I always listen to every song!
