streetable race spec engine? yea trying to get some good power WITHOUT A TURBO. i know its going to be a hard task to get the 220 crank horse power i want out of the engine, most likely impossible with the money source i have, but either way would it be a good idea to keep it?

cause i plan to fabricate a bigger intake manifold with bigger openings and stuff, enough to fit a 70mm throttle or bigger on it. and it would also keep my low end torque.

then time it so so when the engine does need more air greater amounts of air flow in.

so good to keep or not?

The biggest problem you are going to have is the fact that its a MAZDA PROTEGE!!!!!!!!!

getting 220HP in a 2.0L protege engine is not impossible, by the way my protege 2002 has 215hp non turbo

you cant fabricate the manifold because the original is made to deliver the correct amount and flow of air into the piston, making a weird manifold can make the air don't reach properly the piston and that can blown the engine

and another thing is, lets imagine you fabricate the manifold, you have to make your car programmable ecu to eliminate the maf sensor

im mechanic and only spend on parts because i install them, but you will need about 4000 to make the car reach that hp and serious modifications
