Do you think that it would be weird to add him on Facebook?

Ok so I recently found out that my tennis instructor has a Facebook. My friend is friends with someone who is friends with him. So my question is do you think that it would be weird for me to add him? He is in his mid 20's and I am a teenager. I see him about once or twice a week. He isn't really friends with any of his other students and he isn't really in the city network. Do you think it would be weird if I were to add him? And if he does/doesn't add me do you think it would be awkward the next time I see him?
he's not my teacher through school.
 
im friends with my french tutor, but he has left my school now.

Say to him, "i noticed you were on facebook, can i add you?"

if he says no then accept it, its no big deal.
 
Your tennis instructor is teaching you and should therefore be classified as a teacher. If he were to try adding you, that might be considered inappropriate
