Do you think that facial piercings draw attention away from your good facial features?

I have a pretty good looking face, and a few piercings, I want more. Thing is my mother tells me that having too many piercings distracts people from your face.

I really don't want to distract people from what my face looks like, I like my face. At the same time I think it would look better with some more metal in it. Opinions?
