Do you think that dogs are often good judges of people?

I once read that when Jennifer Aniston started dating John Mayer, her dog took an instant dislike to him. As anyone who's kept up with the Aniston drama knows, John Mayer ended up being a disappointment to her. After she broke up with Mayer, she supposedly said that she would begin judging her boyfriends by her dog's reaction to them. Do you think that dogs are good judges of people and perhaps have instincts that many humans don't in these situations?
 
YES I really do . I have three dogs and one is a Pit bull cross and two Shepard's . My dogs are smart and they usually get along with most people . But once a man was angry at me and was coming at me on my property My Pit bull got him . She clamped down on his back leg and would not let go until he promised to leave and apologized - no matter how much he punched hit and kicked her . Honestly he said he was sorry and meant it and on her own she let him go .
