...about damages from tenants? I don't think that apartment managers/landlords have the right to complain about property damages done by tenants, because they're the one that gave the permission to anyone to occupy the property. If the landlords don't anyone damaging their property, then they shouldn't be renting out units to anyone. Therefore all units should stay vacant.

landlords and managers do not rent to just anyone, they rent to screened tenants. Why would you even think renting a home or apt would give tenants the right to destroy someones property or damage anything. If you rent a hotel or a car and damaged it you will have to pay for it. Also they gave permission to live in the apt or home, not to destroy it or damage it. Yes they have the right to complain about damages and keep their deposit and sue for any damage over the deposit.

What a wonderful attitude!! Why should they pay for your negligence?????

We with-hold deposits for damages, and even pursue tenants through the courts for damages more than the deposit.

Are you serious??? Permission was given to occupy and maintain the property....NOT TRASH THE PLACE. Your the reason landlord do credit and back-round checks.
