Anyone ever read Charles Bukowski?
yeah, I don't think it has to be pretty either.

I just got s lot of negative comments about my peom because it grossed some people out and I thought maybe I needed a new forum. Good to know some people are on my "wave length"

no not all has to be pretty..
but it has to come from the heart
and from our thoughts..how we feel,
and not everything we feel is pretty right?
or it can just be random..thing is its poetry..
it has its unique beauty..doesnt have to rhyme or
something of that sort.

no to both answers :)
because poetry has a lot of destruction and heart break

Poetry, in my opinion, has to be emotionally moving. It doesn't even need to make sense. It just needs to be awe-inspiring. If the writer can get that much across then they have something going for them.

Try Rod Mckuen...Great poems but not all pretty and fluff...some very gritty stuff.

I personally havn't read his poetry but No it all doesn't have to be pretty. Poetry are your feeling "raw" The showing the beauty if your soul. It helps people take a deeper look into anything.

Ex. Pain, love, death, life, people, animals, nature, ect

It can be dark and mean or bright and meaniful. It's true feelings.
